Accounting: A User Perspective Course No: GBAT9120

Accounting: A User Perspective is designed for those who use accounting information, rather than those whose task it is to prepare it. The focus is on the understanding and use of accounting information as well as the composition and meaning of the financial statements. The course covers accounting reports prepared for external users as well as accounting reports used by managers to plan, control and make decisions.

Professor Ken Trotman
MCom (Hons), PhD UNSW, FCA, FCPA

Ken Trotman is a Scientia Professor in the School of Accounting at UNSW. He has participated in accounting and management education for over 20 years, with visiting appointments at Cornell University and The University of Michigan. Ken has published six books and numerous articles in leading journals in Australia, the UK and the USA. He also has extensive experience in the design and presentation of materials for accountants and non-accountants in both the private and public sectors. He was awarded the 2001 Outstanding Educator Award by the American Accounting Association.
