Assessment
Where do I find the due dates for assessments for my course?
Due dates, weightings and examination details are available in
the Assessment Details section of your Study Guide and on the Assessment
Plan which gives an overview of all assessment dates for all MBT
Courses. You can find the Assessment Plan for the relevant Semester. Due dates are also included in the Assessments section of your Blackboard classroom.

How do I submit my assignments?
All assignments, unless otherwise advised, should be submitted online in your Blackboard classrooms via the Assessments link on the left hand menu. Please see the Blackboard User Manual for instructions.
If you experience difficulties while uploading, please email your assignment to your facilitator and cc in Student Support.
All MBT Blackboard classes have been set up to allow draft assignment submission in advance of the submission deadline so that students can check their own work for similarity and compliance with referencing guidelines using Turnitin.
Please note: draft assignments submitted in this way will be submitted as the final version at the due date if you have not uploaded a subsequent, finalised version.
Assignment coversheets are no longer required, however assignments should be uploaded with the following naming convention so they can be identified easily:

Who should I nominate as my examination supervisor?
Your Examination Supervisor should be someone in a senior position
from your workplace (eg a Manager or direct Supervisor).
We appreciate that this is not always feasible, especially for
students who run their own company or are in the highest position
in their office. In such cases we recommend you suggest someone
within your office who does carry a level of responsibility in their
job description (eg an Assistant Manager) or some other responsible
third party (eg a solicitor, Justice of the Peace, a doctor, a teacher).
If none of these are available, you can contact a local educational
institution, such as a university or TAFE, who may be able to provide
a location and supervisor. Please note that the MBT Office does
not take liability for any fee incurred in organising your Exam
Supervisor.
The following are not allowed:
Nominating a current student of the MBT program to be your supervisor
Nominating an immediate family member to be your supervisor
Listing your home or work address as the delivery address for the
exam
Your exam must be sat on the date specified in the Assessment Details
section of your Study Guide, however it is up to you and your supervisor
to set a time.

How do I submit my Exam Supervisor Form?
The online Examination Supervisor Nomination Form is available
on the myUNSWwebsite.
Log into the myUNSW site with your Student ID (including the z
prefix) and UniPass, select the 'My Student Profile' tab at the
top of the page (right next to the Home tab, top left navigation
bar). On the My Student Profile page, select the link 'Nominate
Exam Supervisor' under the heading 'MBT Students' - right at the
bottom of the menu list, left hand side of the page.
Once you've selected the Nominate Exam Supervisor link you'll be
prompted step-by-step until you have completed the required details.
For detailed instructions please see the following guide .
All students (including Face-to-Face) need to complete an
Exam Supervisor Nomination for each course to advise the MBT Program
if you intend to sit your exam for that course ON or OFF campus.
All face-to-face and Sydney distance participants are encouraged
to sit their exams on campus.
If you have questions about your exam or the Exam Supervisor Nomination
Form, please email mbt.student.support@unsw.edu.au.

What if my exam supervisor changes?
If the person you have nominated becomes unavailable you must submit
a new Examination Supervisor Form via the myUNSW website. If your
supervisor changes less than three weeks prior to the date the exam
is scheduled for, you should contact the MBT Office directly, as
the exam paper will already have been dispatched.
What if I cannot sit my exam on the date specified?
As stated on all Assessment Plans 'Examination dates are fixed
and cannot be varied'. Work commitments are not acceptable reasons
for changing your examination date.
The MBT Office will agree to a change in examination date in extreme
circumstances only. In this situation the Course Coordinator will
be contacted to ascertain if they approve setting a supplementary
exam. If approved, we will arrange an alternative date for you to
sit the exam, under the same supervision conditions as for all other
MBT exams.
Please make every effort to ensure you are able to sit your exam
on the specified day as in doing so you are maintaining the academic
integrity of the MBT Program. For example, if you will be travelling
for work on the day, nominate a travelling partner or other person
in the office/company you are visiting. If you believe you will
encounter difficulty in sitting the examination on the specified
date, please contact the MBT Office as soon as possible so that
we can suggest a solution.

Are past examination papers for MBT courses available?
Past examination papers for MBT courses are not normally made available,
and they are not stored in the UNSW library. All courses have a
sample exam in the assessment section of the Course Overview in
your study guide for your reference. Additional information about
your examination will be supplied by your Class Facilitator close
to the exam.
How do I access my results?
Your results are made available online approximately four weeks
after the completion of the examination period. They are not posted
to students. The MBT Office will advise when results become available.
UNSW releases results in two steps. Firstly, an email, containing
your result(s) and provisional academic standing, will be sent to
your student email account. The results will then be made available
via the myUNSW site. You will need your Student ID (including the
z prefix) and UniPass to log in online.

What happens if I fail a Course?
You will receive a Fail for a Course if you do not hand in all
of the assessments, withdraw after the Academic Penalty date (see
Program Dates) or score a mark of 49
or under.
UNSW's policy on Academic Standing is that postgraduate students
who have failed one or two courses are placed on Probation and must
contact their Academic Adviser (advised in a letter from UNSW) before
re-enrolling in the program. If a student fails three courses they
are excluded from the program for two years and need to re-apply
for admission after this time.
If you are unhappy with a mark you receive, either in an assignment
or overall, please contact your Class Facilitator to discuss this.
If you fail to resolve the issue please contact MBT Student Services.
